Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at La Passione Dei Sassi during my city trip to the enchanting Matera, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience. Nestled just a short 10-minute stroll from the iconic Sassi, this charming B&B welcomed us with exceptional warmth-a delightful touch, especially after our scenic drive from Bari Karol Wojtyla airport, which is conveniently only 65 km away. Our room, affectionately named 'Betty', was nothing short of immaculate. It boasted air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a pristine en suite bathroom, providing us with all the comforts one could desire. The standout highlight, however, was the breakfast-a beautiful spread featuring freshly prepared focaccia, exquisite fruits artfully arranged, and an array of delightful options including yogurt and cappuccino, all served with a genuine smile by the lovely sisters who run the place. With their insightful suggestions on local attractions and a shared lounge that felt like a cozy gathering spot, my companions and I truly felt at home. La Passione Dei Sassi is more than just a great place to stay; it encapsulates the warmth of local culture, setting the perfect tone for exploring the wonders of Matera. I highly recommend this hidden gem to travelers seeking a blend of comfort and authentic hospitality.
